1959-1976February 12th, 1976
Founded in 1959, Ethylene Gulf Coast (EGC) was established, and specialized in gaskets and o-rings. EGC was one of the first companies to incorporate double-tooling, enabling us to produce parts at a much faster rate than competitors.
The company experienced growth throughout the 1960’s, adding extrusion, compression molding, and material blending capabilities to meet market demands.
With the advanced capabilities and expertise, EGC introduced its flagship product, Fibrex® bearings, in 1976.
1980-2000June 2nd, 1980
EGC’s success continued throughout the 1980’s, adding yet again expanded manufacturing and designing capabilities of diaphragms, melt molding, auto-molding, and isostatic molding.
Throughout the 1990’s, EGC ramped up its manufacturing by adding a 1500-ton large diameter compression molding press, XPC2 winding equipment, and a Class 1000 clean room for applications where purity is essential.
In the year 2000, EGC began manufacturing semiconductor equipment process components.
2005-2007May 4th, 2007
In 2005, EGC was approved as a PAI (Torlon®) certified injection molder.
2006 was a banner year for EGC, as it was purchased by Fenner, PLC, and became part of the Fenner Advanced Sealing Technologies division.
Partnering with its sister company, CDI Energy Products, a new 230,000 square foot manufacturing facility was constructed in 2007.
2011-2017June 6th, 2011
In 2011, EGC invested in new robotics to improve delivery and quality.
In 2012, EGC Critical Components was officially formed and created an OEM alliance partner strategy.
In 2017, EGC exceeded a major milestone of completing more than one million man hours without a lost time incident.
Quality and Safety
Ensuring quality of product
EGC Critical Components addresses quality at every step in the process – concept to completion. Our investment in state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, from robotics to cleanrooms, ensures the maximum level of precision manufacturing.
Customer requirements are met through detailed contract review, well defined and repeatable processes and statistically based inspection plans in accordance with API Specification Q1 Ninth Edition. API Q1 certification gives EGC an additional competitive advantage within the Oil and Gas market for licensing to API product specifications. We are also maintaining our ISO 9001:2015 certification.
Quality also involves product delivery. EGC excels at developing solutions and delivering them within agreed lead times. To meet client schedules without interruption, we track performance at each stage in the manufacturing process through delivery of the final product.
Health, safety and environmental
For us, health, safety, and the environment are of the utmost importance. Our first priority is to ensure our employees go home the same way they came to work. Creating an environment and culture of safety first benefits our customers by allowing us to recruit and retain the best of the best. Our ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 management systems help us continuously improve on all elements of HSE while ensuring regulatory compliance. We value HSE for the same reasons you do. We care about our people, customers, and corporate responsibility.
